Getting a kick start on your day is good for the body and the mind – we’re sharing 3 banging smoothie recipes, to help keep you feeling good and get your skin glowing! These are all easy to make and contain easy-to-obtain ingredients.

Grab some ice, chuck all the ingredients into a blender and you are good to go!


POPAYE

Ingredients

  • ¼ pineapple
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger
  • Handful of kale
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 1 tbs vanilla pea protein (optional)

The key ingredient of this smoothie is pineapple, which is brill for your immune system – packed with antioxidants it also contains a specific enzyme, bromelain. Bromelain helps
to suppress any inflammation within your body, helps your digestive system to function optimally and will also help to relieve any sinus problems.

Ginger’s active ingredient is, gingerol. Another powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, that can help to reduce muscle aches and nausea.

Then we’ve got kale – one of the most nutrient dense foods to exist! Loaded with antioxidants such as quercetin, kaempferol, vitamins C + K and heaps of fibre – pass us them greens!


MORNING GLORY

Ingredients

  • 1 mango
  • Handful of spinach
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup almond milk

The main ingredient of this smoothie is, mango. Jammed with vitamin A + C, vital for the immune function, skin cell DNA repair and collage production.

Spinach is another vitamin C superstar, it not only packs a powerful antioxidant punch, but also helps us fight infection and regenerate other vital antioxidants such as vitamin E.

Turmeric has incredible anti-inflammatory properties and works to protect your immune system by increasing its immunomodulating (immune system-regulating) capacity.


24 CARROT GOLD

Ingredients

  • 1 large carrot (peeled)
  • 1 large orange
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • 1 cup of almond milk

Another vitamin C dense smoothie, courtesy of the oranges and carrots. Again, both fantastic for the immune system and help to support collagen production.

Carrots contain high levels of antioxidants, which will protect your body’s cells from damage from free radical oxidation and protect against inflammation.

Oranges have been scientifically proven to assist heart health by controlling glucose and cholesterol levels. Additional bonus, they’ve also been linked to reducing the risk of respiratory diseases.

The final piece of this smoothie is cinnamon, an immune stimulator. Cinnamon helps to prevent blood platelet clumping, inhibits inflammatory substances and has the ability to regulate your blood glucose levels. And there was us thinking it was only useful for Chai lattes and nutmeg ..
